35 sun orbits, here’s what I’ve learned:

- everyone’s faking it
- being a perfectionist really means insecure
- doing the bare minimum often has the same outcome as giving it your all
- my body officially feels naked if I don’t have a temp tattoo on
- my husband is hot (I knew that one all along)

And I don’t get the hype about “peaking in your twenties.” My 20s was a series of existential crisis and hoping it counted as a ‘hobby’. My 30s? Giving less shit, drinking more water & realizing no one’s really looking that closely anyway.

Oh and Free Palestine.

Just a cozy Sunday evening, creating temporary tattoos at my fav neighborhood spot — @cafeourhours

I’m a regular (matcha latte for me) & it made sense to kick off the summer workshop season somewhere that already felt like home.

It was intimate with 12 little aspiring artists.

That Time Nissan Called… and I Almost Didn’t Pick Up - here’s the story.

It was early spring in Toronto - aka winter in denial. Coat season is still in full swing.

I had just transitioned from henna to temporary tattoos & barely had a name in the game.

My phone rings - unknown number. And despite typically not picking up, cause well I’m a millennial, for some reason I answered.

It was a big-shot producer needing temp tattoos for an actor in a Nissan commercial.

They found me on Google, despite my lack of stencil experience. But being born with the “How hard can it be?” gene, I said ‘what the heck...’.

The catch? The shoot was in five days, and the tattoo needs at least 2 days to set.

So I made like an egg & scrambled...

I cleared my schedule & cue a night of back-and-forth emails to finalize the design—along with manually retracing the stencils, since I didn’t have a printer… or a clue

By some miracle, I must’ve left quite the impression because the team invited me to the set to watch the shoot.

And once Nissan was on my client roster, other brands rolled into my inbox like DMs from a ‘crypto bro’.

Moral of the story?

Wear delusional energy like an honour badge & always answer the phone.

Since it only stains the upper layer of skin, known as the epidermis - as the skin regenerates itself the tattoo stain naturally fades over time. Typically an 8 - 14 day range.

The countdown depends on your shower schedule, gym dedication, and how much you avoid dish-cleaning duty.
